Travel

After Rocknolds had his bath, he decided for us to go to the beach! It takes us almost 2 hours to reach Avalon beach. From Burwood it is around 49kms… That’s quite far and so hot driving under the sun…  It’s our first long travel here in Aus. Thanks for our very helpful GPS “tomtom” for giving us the direction wherever we go… :) We ordered KFC to have some snacks while on the road and when we arrive.

Wildlife

Wildlife

Along the way, we passed the wildlife and for the first time we saw a dead kangaroo on the side of the road.. I’m not sure if it’s a joey or a momma kanga… it’s not that grown up.. maybe that’s why one of the car crashed on her… poor kanga…

We passed by Newtown beach, and they had this small carnival in the park and a lot of good selling along the road… it’s cheap! Many people went there to shop and swim on the beach…

When we arrived at Avalon Beach, a lot of families were there… also sexy girls in a bikini and gorgeous guy w/ their short.. and also w/ the surfers in their suit.. :) There’s a strong current and the wind is so cold.. We tried to swim in the pool. my god! the temperature is 17 degrees celsius.. how can I every swim on that kind of water… it’s freezing!!

Reece loves the water but it’s so cold! After having a dip on the water, he’s chilling.. ggrr…

After a couple of hours, we went back home… we passed by a long winding road again and also on the other side of wildlife.. good thing there’s no joey there… we’re so tired… i felt so hot! my face’s burning… It’s quite a long travel and a great experienced we had… hehe  We’re planning to go to another beach soon. maybe on the easter part for now.. The Northern Beaches is quite far.. hehe but it’s a great one too! Someday, we’ll have a holiday home there! That’s my dream! hahah =)

Monday April 07, 2008

It was our last day in Cebu City, Philippines… We arrived @ the airport around 5:20 in the afternoon… We don’t need to worry regarding our check-in since i already did it online 40hrs ago… all you have to do is go to their website… http://www.cathaypacific.com

With Online Check-In, you can:

  • Check in for Cathay Pacific flights, Dragonair flights and any onward flights on partner carriers 48 hours up to 90 minutes prior to flight departure
  • Select a seat for yourself and your companions
  • Change your seat
  • Add or update your Frequent Flyer Number
  • Print a Check-In Confirmation
  • Get the latest departure and weather information
  • Subscribe to notiFLY our flight messaging service
  • Collect your boarding pass at Self-Service Check-In Kiosk (where applicable)
  • Drop your bags at the dedicated Online Check-In Counters at the airport

So, all we did is to go to the online check-in counter and drop our bags and get the boarding pass…

After that we paid the Terminal fee P550 each except for our baby Reece.. We haven’t said goodbye to our families & friends and they’re still waiting outside.. then we left our bags to the guard on duty then went outside to say our goodbyes… Farewell to all my love ones :) I’ll just post my family farewell @ the other page…

Then next thing, we hopped on the plane… Reece was sleeping but when the plane started to fly.. he woke up.. and never sleeps until we landed to Hong Kong after 2 hours and 40 minutes! huhuhu.. When the food was served, good thing that Reece was playing something and he was so busy to noticed that we were eating.. so no worries on this part.. The food? Well, There’s 2 choices of food.. the “pig w/ rice” and the “chicken noodles” as what the stewardess told us.. hehe We can hardly understand her coz her english is not that well… oh maybe because she’s chinese… it’s really different… I was kinda tired already.. we only have 1 hour to transfer to other plane..

When landed around 10:40pm… then went directly to Gate 61 for the next flight to Sydney… We have to move fast coz we only have a half an hour left and we still have to show the boarding pass to the Cathay Pacific Staff… She offered us not to fall in line coz we have a baby w/ us.. good thing. .we don’t have to wait :) hehe..

@CX 101 flight… it was more laysho than the CX920… Bigger space, couch… then there we go! Reece woke up again.. hehe I haven’t sleep that much.. Rocknolds & Reece grabbed some sleep but not much either.. then we ate twice :) wehehhe so full!! The crews were friendly and cool.. so no need to worry… around 11 in the morning we arrived @ Sydney! At last! weeeehh!!

We went to get the trolley and put Reece on it.. then went to the immigration then tada! Done.. We saw Ingie first waiting for us in the lobby.. then Joe & Mama Meg :)

Welcome to AUSTRALIA!

We spent our holy week in Catmondaan, Catmon Cebu… It is located in the north of Cebu… It is where my grandfather grew up.. We had a rest house there just along the sea shore… I had so many good memories there..

When I was still young, we (my lola maming, mama & yaya) used to go there every weekend… I love the beach since I was young, and until now, i still love it..

I love the sea breeze in the morning.. the cold wind blowing your hair…

the sound of the waves just infront of the house… the moonlit on the sea during the night

especially the stars where I can see a lot of stars there compared here in the city…

It’s really different if you grew up in the city and spend the most of your days here… You will really love the nature… It makes me more relaxing and i find it romantic too…

When I was young, I said to myself that someday, I will bring my husband and our kids in the place… And now, tada!

We were there! It came true.. :) I already did pictured it out before… I’m happy that I visited the place again and spent the time w/ my family there before we leave… and I hope we can visit the place again soon…

We went there last Thursday @ 1pm then arrived @3pm… It’s a 2 hrs drive by car/bus… depends on the speed of course.. you can get there a half an hour if you drive fast…

We had Lechon for lunch last Friday, March 21, 2008.. It’s a good Friday remember? But still we ate a lot and its like we’ll not gonna eat lechon again for a long time.. hehe I hope we can still find some lechon in Oz.. hehe I doubt it..

I pity Denry, he doesn’t eat lechon… He’s not used to it… He just ate the “Atay” and Century Tuna Hot & Spicy.. one of our fave canned goods here… hehe Aside from my family (Papa, Mama, Bro) Matt2x & Denry was w/ us and of course w/ Marnie and Joey..

We had inuman Thursday night, Just a couple of Beers and sumsuman… Tempura… hehe We had the talks and discussion about the book “The Secret” again… it’s a nice discussion we had.. but it ended up because Matt2x accidentally threw the flashlight outside the terrace and fell into the sea! woah! it’s already past 12midnight and its high tide… Matt2x quickly went down to get the flashlight! hehe it was funny, he was almost naked when he went to get it.. When he got the flash light we were amused, why was the flash light was still working when it fell into the water.. It’s not a waterproof thing… and its a cheap one… but a good quality.. hehe

That’s it.. Matt, went back to us catching his breathe coz he drank a lot of water in the sea… He was hit by the big waves that took him out of control… poor matt2x.. hehe what an experienced he had…

Anyway, we still had a nice talked that night.. and made up woke up late the next day.. Then we went back to the City @ 6pm Friday night… I didn’t had a swim coz i was so tired and we just had a nice stroll along the sea shore…

My first time to travel out of the country…

Last January 5, 2007, Me & Tabs went to Hong Kong… We had the cheapest flight ever, thanks to Cebu Pacific Air promo… Their services were great.. we just had an additional payment of 1620pesos for the Phil. travel tax and 550pesos for the Terminal fee… We arrived there around 11pm in the evening and we started our adventure of sleeping in the airport… it’s fun and we’re having a great time… www.hongkongairport.com

We had a cup of Pacific coffee and a free wifi internet inside the airport! Rocknolds sleeping in one of the benches@ the departure area

Now we’re awake! Its already 7am, Good Morning Hong Kong! Now its time to have some breakfast!

Journey in HK starts here….

We went directly to Mong Kok where our hostel is waiting for us… When we arrived at the Sincere bldg, we went directly to Dragon Hostel…
www.dragonhostel.com

The room is small but clean w/ our own shower room… They have one filipina helper who welcomes us.. She taught at first that we’re a Thai but i told her we’re pinay.. a big smile shown in her face… nice to see a pinay in there… There’s a lot of Filipina workers there… It pity us especially when we went to Central during Sunday..

We don’t know that Sunday is a Pinoy day in HK… Many Pinays were gathering there..salo salo eating, playing cards, chikka2x and all… some were busy talking on the phone w/ their relos… I really pity them, they’ve been working so hard for their family here in Phils. but some of their families doesn’t care and some of their children are not doing good in school… w/o even knowing that their parents were working soo hard for them to have a good life here… Filipinos usually hangout in Central near HSBC Bldg.

HK is a beautiful place.. I love the skyline in Avenue of Stars, The peak where you can see all the bldgs around you, very clean… everyone is working very hard… even @ night, someone is wiping the frames in the subway…. It’s very different here… I also appreciate their rubbish bins were everywhere.. in every corner of the road.. and also it was my first time to ride a train! hehehe…. really amazing.. :)

Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui… I love the lights and the cold weather. weee!!!

Ocean Park.. Fantastic Sharks, Jelly, Panda, and the Cable Car!!!
